About Us

Welcome to New Wave Church

We are Nathen and Lisette Puentes, and for the past 12 years, it has been our privilege and joy to serve as the pastors of this community. Our hearts are deeply invested in seeing lives transformed, families restored, and our community strengthened through the love and truth of Jesus Christ.

Our Mission

At New Wave Church, our mission is simple: to love God and love people. We believe in the power of the early church as described in Acts 2, which inspires us to be a community of believers who are passionate about:

  • Worship: Glorifying God in everything we do.
  • Fellowship: Building authentic, life-giving relationships.
  • Service: Reaching out to serve and care for others near and far.
  • Discipleship: Growing together in our walk with Christ.

Acts 2 paints a beautiful picture of a church living out its faith with radical generosity, unity, and devotion. This is the heartbeat of our church, and we aim to live it out every day as we engage with each other and our community.

Our Vision

We envision a church that is a beacon of hope in Ridge Manor, where people from all walks of life can find the love of Jesus. We desire to cultivate a welcoming environment where people can grow in their faith, experience the joy of serving others, and be equipped to make a difference in the world around them.

We are committed to creating a space where everyone is welcome, no matter their background or where they are on their spiritual journey. Whether you’re just starting to explore faith, or you’ve been following Christ for years, we believe there is a place for you here.

We invite you to be a part of what God is doing at New Wave Church. Whether you’re looking for a church home, need support, or are simply curious about the Christian faith, we would love to meet you. Experience the warmth and joy of our community as we grow together in Christ.

Why we give as believers:

We receive charitable donations as an act of worship and stewardship, recognizing that all provision ultimately comes from God (James 1:17). In faithfulness to Scripture, these gifts are first directed toward caring for those within and around our community who are vulnerable and in need. The Bible calls God’s people to defend and provide for widows, the poor, and those facing hardship (James 1:27; Proverbs 19:17; Deuteronomy 15:7–11). Through benevolence, practical assistance, and acts of mercy, we seek to reflect the compassion of Christ, ensuring that no one among us is overlooked or forgotten (Acts 4:34–35).

Where do these offering go:

Donations also support the ongoing work and mission of the church, including operational needs that allow ministry to function with integrity and order (1 Corinthians 9:13–14; 1 Timothy 5:17–18). We invest in spaces and opportunities for fellowship—gathering together, sharing meals, breaking bread, giving to those in need, and strengthening relationships—following the example of the early church (Acts 2:42–47). In all things, our desire is to steward every gift wisely, generously, and transparently, so that our resources serve both the spiritual and physical well-being of our community, bringing glory to God and love to our neighbors (Matthew 25:35–40).
